Honey finds your discount codes

Fill in discount coupons
Searching for discount coupons is often a difficult job, you have to look up each coupon first and then you have to try and see if it is still valid . Then you just have to wait and see if you could have gotten even more discount with another coupon. Honey is a web application that could save you quite a bit of time. If you have shopped at a supported online store and you arrive at the checkout page, the Honey pop-up will automatically appear. Here you click on Apply Coupons and Honey will get to work for you. Honey will now try all discount coupons from its database and then notify you if a coupon is available for the product. Click Apply...coupons if coupons are found. If there are no valid coupons, the Try ... more coupons button may appear to try less promising coupons.
The video shows how easy Honey works.

Honey Gold
In addition to looking for discount coupons, Honey offers " Honey Gold ". These are points that you can save at webshops that are affiliated with this savings program. If you can save Honey Gold points at a webshop, there is a golden icon with the letter "G" next to the name of the webshop in the window, which you open by clicking on the orange Honey icon in the button bar. Dutch web shops such as Groupon.nl and Zalando.nl are also affiliated with this. The saved points do not expire if you save 10 points once every 12 months.
Browser extension
How exactly does Honey work?
Honey is a so-called browser extension, also called a plug-in. A plug-in is a utility that you can use inside another program, in this case in a browser (the program you use to browse the Internet). Each extension has a specific function. At Honey, these are the two most important: 1. Trying discount codes and 2. Saving points.

If you only want to use the discount coupons that Honey offers, you do not need to create an account. If you also want to use Honey Gold points, an account is required. Honey Gold is Honey's loyalty program.
Webshop support
Now you are probably wondering how to use Honey. That's very easy: All you have to do as a user is install the extension from the browser you use and Honey does the rest. Every browser has some kind of store for extensions, similar to Google's Play Store. If Honey supports the web store, the orange Honey logo will appear with a white H in the top right of the toolbar (except Honey for Safari, where the logo remains gray and red numbers appear).
Honey supports thousands of webshops worldwide, such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, United Arab Amirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
Supported stores in Germany include Yumpu, Thomann and Otto, in the UK Microsoft Store, Sky and Argos and in the USA Etsy, Apple and Wallmart.

Honey Window

If you click on the orange Honey logo with the white " H " at the top right, the Honey window will appear, divided into three tabs at the bottom of the window. From left to right that is: Home , Search and Account . Account is then again divided into two tabs, namely Honey Gold and Account . All these parts are explained separately below.
Honey - Home
At the top of the Home tab is the Honey Gold logo, which indicates that points can be saved at this webshop. Below that you will see the amount of discount mentioned with the button to activate this next to it. Below you will find the coupons that are available for the current webshop. Each coupon states what you can use it for, for example on the order value or for a specific product.
Honey - Search
On Search you can, of course, search for your favorite webshop, below are the popular Dutch webshops with the Honey Gold icon, if the webshop supports this savings program.
Honey Account - Accumulated Points
On this tab you can earn extra points in addition to saving points at webshops, namely by creating an account (50 points), going through the Demo (50 points) and inviting friends (500 points per friend). As you can see, you can easily earn a lot of points here. Below is the total of saved points with the Redeem button , with which you can redeem your saved points for a shopping voucher at PayPal or gift vouchers at various webshops. This button is gray if you do not yet have sufficient balance for a gift card and turns orange as soon as you have sufficient balance. The current balance for a gift card is 1100 points. However, this may vary in the future.
Honey Account - Personal Information
On the Account tab you will find your personal details, you can request help via Help, change the settings and Log out.
Droplist

Place product in Droplist
Despite the fact that the Droplist feature is only available in the US, I'll cover this cool feature anyway. By the way, Droplist will be available in other countries soon as well. With Droplist it is possible to receive a notification of products that have been reduced in price. All you have to do is place the product in the Droplist. When a white icon with an orange H with + symbol appears, the Droplist function is supported by the relevant webshop.
Redeem Gold Points
Multiple options
Honey continues to expand across the world, not surprising when you consider that Honey was incorporated by PayPal a few years ago. While in the past as a Dutch user you could only exchange your Honey Gold points for gift vouchers at Ticketmaster and Zalando, nowadays you can exchange them at PayPal for shopping vouchers or for gift vouchers at various stores, from 1200 Gold points.
Different regions
You can redeem your Gold Points earned in both the app and the plugin. On the Redeem tab , first select the EU flag so that you are presented with the right options to redeem your saved points. As you can see in the attached images, these options differ per region, because in the USA you can also have your points paid out as money on your PayPal wallet.
Honey Gold points can be redeemed within the EU at PayPal for shopping vouchers or at various stores for gift vouchers
Paying out Gold Points
A nice fact is that when you choose the USA region as a resident of the EU you can also have your Gold points paid out to your PayPal wallet via the option Transfer to PayPal balance . This will appear in Dollars in your PayPal wallet. If you want to convert this to Euros, you can also do this by simply depositing the amount into your linked bank account.

Honey app
Honey is also available as an app for Android and iOS. The app is currently available for members in the US, UK, AU, CA, DE, FR, IT, NL, IN, and ES members. From this app you can apply discount codes and save Honey Gold points just like on your PC. The app lists all web shops for which Honey has collected the discount codes and which support Honey Gold points savings. In the overview, you tap on the webshop of your choice, tap the Shop on website button and then you shop on the website of the webshop as usual, but at the bottom of the page there is a button Offers. If you tap this, two tabs will appear: Discounts and Rewards . Under Discounts you can manually copy the discount code and under Rewards it states how many Gold Points you will receive. Once at checkout, you can choose to enter this code manually or have it handled automatically by Honey.
In short: Within the Honey app you can shop at your favorite webshop, where the app keeps an eye on what discount you can get.
